HELPS MINISTRY

The Tabernacle of David’s Helps Ministry is a ministry of concern, caring, and compassion.  It is our purpose to make sure that TODC is not negligent, but sensitive to the people of the Church and the surrounding community.

The Helps Ministry is a gift that God has set in the church to assist the Pastor in carrying out the vision for the church.  We are called to minister and serve others.  

We are admonished in the word to “do good”, especially to those of the household of faith.  Our ministry goal is to show care and concern for others through exhortation and encouragement, thereby meeting one another’s needs.

Our Vision Statement is:  “We are laborers displaying excellence, unity and love, while assuring that each service flows smoothly as we tend to the natural needs of the service.  We accept the call the Lord has entrusted to us and serve to the glory of God!

Here at the Tabernacle of David, we focus very strongly on encouraging and exhorting people. As Romans 12:6-8 states, “We have then gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man’s gift is serving, let him serve; if it is encouraging, let him encourage, if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously, if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully.”

The Helps Ministry is a vital way to express your servant heart to the Lord and to the body of Christ. 

Here, you will be vitally serving and a part of the hands of Christ.  There are many opportunities to serve. 

Bereavement Ministry—Contacts grieving families as soon as the church learns of their loss.  See to it that care, consolation, and spiritual support are provided by other TODC family members.

Culinary Arts —Provides food and fellowship for seasonal events, special services, dinner and other ministerial services.

Hospitality —Ensures that every member & visitor entering the doors of the church are met with a smile & extended a warm welcome that will instill an atmosphere of fellowship; as well as being a resource of information.

Service Attendants—An in-house ministry organized to serve God by serving our membership.  Members are on standby to manage medical emergencies within their scope of training, and provide nursing care during worship services, assist with altar, and meet the immediate needs of leadership!

Touched By Love—Instills a sense of genuine camaraderie & fellowship towards every visitor that enters, greeting each one with a royal & congenial welcome upon arriving & a loving & warmhearted farewell as they depart.  This initial personal contact is intended to foster a compelling desire for the visitor to come & worship with us again!
